Biological systems represent a successful strategy for the design of materials that meet complex performance criteria in a variety of environments. Innovative materials are essential for the design of advanced and sustainable chemical processes. We are interested in further development of already amazing materials such as bacterial derived bio-polymers polyhydroxyalkanoates and nanocellulose, as well as metalic oxide nanomaterials for applications in synthesis, bio-medicine or environmental applications.
